I love logo design. It’s one of the first things i started doing after learning vector art, and it’s something I always come back to after working in other areas. For me, it’s like a puzzle, a challenging puzzle, but I love a challenge.
Logo design to me is about finding essence of a product, person or company and condensing it down into an instantly recognizable 2D form. I am inspired every day by amazing logo designs, and I want to do my best to do what they do.
When I recently had the opportunity to do some branding and logo design for the YouTube channel of a friend, I jumped at the chance. The channel is called “The Regular Joe Foodie Show,” and focuses on my friend Al and his son, who review local restaurants.

I came up with two basic designs for them: The first one is that one above. I thought this logo would be a fun and unique way to make the channel stand out from the crowd. With a hand-drawn look and cheerful aesthetic, I felt this logo really captured the essence of who they are.

The logo was more based on the concept of a barbecue grill, which is what they review most often. I think this logo is more sophisticated and interesting, but still fun and unique at heart. This is the one they ultimately chose.

The logo and the backgrounds were all hand-drawn vector art, and I’m really happy with how these came out in particular. I hope Al and his son are too!
If you want to support the Regular Joe Foodie Show, go subscribe to their channel! They’re a small channel just starting to grow, and it would mean a lot to them!
